But it wouldn't explain the lower numbers in NM, but higher numbers in TX. All with very different gun laws.

It also wouldn't explain why Alaska is so high up there. Not even really close to Mexico. Unless they are fighting off the Russians :)

As for the debate to Freedom VS Safety, your Freedom to arm yourself may not enusre my safety, but regulation of fire arms would do so, at least to some extent. Therefore, should I be the person to choose safety over freedom, I would choose to live in a group of people that would restrict my freedom some so that I could feel safer.Louhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03933588934629793616noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4048022562667763490.post-50099165019255326772011-01-23T11:06:34.995-06:002011-01-23T11:06:34.995-06:00Ps. And number one on that list of gun deaths is California.
In opinion the only reason AZ so high on the list is the narco drug war thats going on in the state.Josh Kruschkehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09288700371539530398noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4048022562667763490.post-42927641604774127072011-01-23T10:58:35.360-06:002011-01-23T10:58:35.360-06:00Lou -

There are no guanties in life. The Second Amendment is there to insure and protect my freedoms.

:-)
JoshJosh Kruschkehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09288700371539530398noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4048022562667763490.post-6669060784445654302011-01-23T01:16:38.047-06:002011-01-23T01:16:38.047-06:00I think the issue here isn't about anything as...I think the issue here isn't about anything as spesific as guns.

Instead, I think this is an issue of Freedom VS Safety. Most human beings will choose giving up some freedoms in order to be safe.

I think you're right Josh. The guy made a decision to live in a state where Safety was a higher priority than freedom. His social contract with the area and people he lived with stated that should he endanger the safety of those around him, he would loose the freedom to own a weapon. Whether or not he actually did endanger anyone's safety is debatable, however, in the eyes of the law, what he said was considered a danger. There can be no complaints from him then because of his social contract with the population he chose to live with.

Had he decided that Freedom was more important than Safety, he would have moved his buisness to Arizona, which has a very high tolerance for Freedoms (at least in gun rights) but is not concerned with safety, as AZ is in the top 5 of the states with the most gun deaths.

It's all a trade off. As an individual, you choose which social group you live with and you follow their norms. If you do not agree with those norms, then do not be suprised if the group retaliates against you.Louhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03933588934629793616noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4048022562667763490.post-63964496632280461882011-01-23T00:14:37.693-06:002011-01-23T00:14:37.693-06:00Given my job I can't discuss this, but glad ev...Given my job I can't discuss this, but glad everyone else is.Home on the Rangehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03836315423040719919noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4048022562667763490.post-13805726739581393372011-01-22T22:10:58.366-06:002011-01-22T22:10:58.366-06:00Good take on a bad situation, Josh.Good take on a bad situation, Josh.DaddyBearhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07508543148426098384noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4048022562667763490.post-3004463329060799452011-01-21T17:32:33.011-06:002011-01-21T17:32:33.011-06:00Tam Beat me down and I posted the pic.
